When we started the school we did not do so with the aim of it getting very big and making lots of money. Most schools and colleges out there cover a lot of filler stuff and many have teachers who have never actually worked in industry. Between that and budgetary constraints they often teach software that is not industry standard and is sometimes not even current. We really just wanted to start a school that honestly taught people the skills that they would REALLY need in the industry. We also wanted it to be fun for our teachers as well as students and in doing so break down that student teacher barrier that often exists. We think that over the past 8 years we have achieved this. When we put together our courses we always look to our own commercial experience and ask ourselves what skills is it we need in a designer that we hire. It is those skills that we teach as well as keeping abreast of the latest developments. |
