OVERVIEW

The Certificate in Web Design is an intensive program that prepares participants for employment
as a web designer within a corporate art department or as a complement to a design background.

DURATION

PART TIME (on campus)

Classes are two nights a week (48hrs) for eight weeks. Classes are held from 6pm to 9pm.
All assignment work is mandatory.

ONLINE (off campus)

Sixteen weeks. Online classes are delivered as formal lectures, tutorials, workshops and computer work. It is expected that students will devote approximately 6 hours per week on average to cover assignments and practice. All projects are mandatory.

SOFTWARE

The current top end web design programs, Adobe’s Dreamweaver and Fireworks are covered
in this course. Academic versions are available to enrolled sudents by Adobe at highly discounted
prices.

AWARD

Grenadi’s Certificate in Web Design. Students will also have completed some units towards the ICP30305 Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Art (a Nationally Endorsed course) for which they
will receive a Statement of Attainment.

prerequisites

•    Basic computer and communication skills.
•    Good design skills and knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator would be an advantage.
•    Recognition of prior learning on request.

outcomes

By the end of this course participants will be able to;
•    have a thorough understanding of the workings of the internet and the role of an ISP
•    design and develop a multi page website
•    the ability to integrate various elements into, and launch a website

Computer Access (PART TIME ONLY)

We have an open access policy, all students are free to use our facilities at any time that the college

is open (subject to availability).

All participants are required to own a computer (any platform) with Adobe Dreamweaver and Fireworks installed. There are minimal additional costs for USB drives and printouts.

Cancellation

Cancellation of your enrolment at any time up to four weeks from course commencement will result in you receiving a full refund for any money you have paid less an administration fee of $250.00.

Cancellation within four weeks of course commencement or after course commencement will incur a fee equal to ten weeks tuition fees and we will refund to you any fees you have paid over and above this amount.

All enrolment cancellations must be in writing.

•    Planning your site and managing your site files.
•    Laying out web pages and adding content to pages.
•    Hand-coding.
•    Setting up a web application and how to use Dreamweaver with other applications.
•    Creating dynamic pages.
•    Editing existing websites using Dreamweaver and hand coding.
